Travel tips for Harar, Lalibela and Gondar
Harar
Hotel: Anisa’s Guest house 091 533 0011 – recommended if you are looking to experience a Traditional Harari home.
Hostess is very hospitable and accommodating. Shared bathroom. Upstairs two guest rooms share a sitting room with TV.
B&B ETB 400 per room

Guide: Chacha - +251 91 310 6714
This young, friendly guide knows his city well. He was born and raised in the old town of Harar. Highly recommended.

Restaurant – Fresh Touch (just down from the Ras Hotel)
This restaurant has tables both outside in an enclosed courtyard and inside. Traditional Ethiopian cuisine was popular with the locals as well as international (the pizzas were very good).

Lalibela
Hotel: Tukul Village Hotel – clean, excellent location, friendly staff.

Guide: Moges Melkamu - +251 91 388 9277
Speaks English and French
Professional, reliable, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Gondar
Hotel: Lodge du Chateau – +251 91 102 1025
Excellent location across from the palace, walking distance to sites and good restaurants. Friendly, accommodating staff, friendly management. Basic rooms, but clean, (although rooms not sound proof).

Guide: NOT RECOMMENDED – Girum Wale +251 91 877 4668
Not professional or reliable.

Restaurant: Master Chef Restaurant and Bar (in front of Belegez Pension).
Excellent pizzas (as well as other international and Ethiopian cuisine)
