We are now seeking to fill the position of Program Coordinator with a candidate who is competent, motivated, and passionate in international development issues. Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of all program-related aspects of firm activities including project planning and implementation, ensuring high quality of deliverables and smooth communications with clients. The Program Coordinator also provides leadership in other aspects of the firm including business development, staff recruitment and evaluation and ensuring that all firm activities are in line with its strategic plan. The role entails close and smooth communication with clients and involved stakeholders, all JaRco staff and when necessary, senior government officials.
Essential Job Functions:
All aspects of the Program Coordinator’s role must be conducted in line with the firm’s strategic plan, mission, vision and core values.
Project Implementation
• Manage all aspects of project implementation including liaising with clients, coordinating the work of multiple (internal and external) parties and ensuring that deadlines are met efficiently, effectively, with high quality deliverables and within budget.
• Keep Director informed and involved in all pertinent aspects of project implementation.
• Coordinate multiple projects to ensure that all resources are utilized within requisite timeframe and budgets.
• Participate in drafting, reviewing, editing and finalizing reports.
• Trouble-shoot programmatic issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ensure that when and where possible, work is allocated evenly and efficiently amongst staff.
• Keep client abreast of progress of project, particularly with regards to field research.
• Oversee all aspects of fieldwork implementation including tools development, training preparation and testing, team formation, budgeting, deployment monitoring and follow-up. Ensure that field deployment of research teams is executed and implemented efficiently and that the research/surveys are conducted to the standards of the firm; conduct field visits (possibly joint-missions with the client) where necessary and appropriate.
• Oversee all aspects of data entry and analysis including data cleaning, entry and report-writing, ensuring that all tasks are conducted with high data quality and within schedule.
Human Resources
• Participate in staff recruitment, evaluation, capacity-building, promotion and termination; finalize policy with Director and set implementation.
• Finalize position descriptions and interview and evaluation criteria.
• Interview and negotiate salaries for all external consultants.
• Conduct regular progress meetings amongst senior staff to ensure adequate and clear communication, and to pre-empt issues of resource allocation and timing as much as possible.
• Manage responsibilities of all direct reports, providing assistance where needed and ensuring that the necessary resources are made available for tasks to be completed efficiently and with high quality.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
• Three to five years of managerial experience, preferably over staff sized 20 to 50.
• Strong knowledge in monitoring and evaluation, international development issues, public health, economics, sociology or related field.
• Masters degree in Development Studies, Public Health, Economics, Sociology or related field.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and diplomatically, and to work independently as well as part of a fast-paced team.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong computer and data processing/analysis skills.
Compensation:
• The Program Coordinator will be provided with a competitive salary. The firm will assist with visa and work permit application.
